Sandwich

She liked sandwiches. In fact, she was the girl who wrote pictorial instructions on how to make a sandwich and circulated them all over the internet like porn. Sandwich making is an intimate experience after all- moving things, slathering things, squirting things and pushing them together. She’s creating something new from many pieces. A thing that will never be the same again. You can dismember it. You can gut it and line up all its pieces on your kitchen table, but they’re different now, slightly but significantly.

A tomato is never just a tomato.

She’s never liked tomatoes anyway.
