The tomatoes & the peppers were having a bit of a dispute in the garden about who was redder & waxier. The peppers strained on their stalks to move into the sun. The tomatoes laughed at the peppers’ curves. The peppers would have called the tomatoes fat, but that’s a compliment in Vegetable World.
The tomatoes became fed up with the peppers’ smug silence. They plucked up some nearby green beans, much to the beans’ protest, and threw them like darts into the unblemished peppers’ skins.
The carrots plotted below the surface, undetected. Listening.
